today was the first day of band camp. to fill you guys in, i play second bass drum in our line, and i am also our section leader. this is my fourth year with my beech buccaneer brigade.
last year was a terrible, terrible year. we had leaders that either didn't care or were like nazis. no one wanted to be there. no one wanted to care, so no one did. we wasted so much time doing nothing. i honestly thought i was going to quit. however, my mom convinced me it was simply a bad year and to give it one more try.
she was so right. this year is a complete turn around. even though most of section are underclassmen, they are catching super quick for having never done this before. they could march better than any other section on the field today and gave everything to learning their new music.
i must say, i am ecstatic for this season.
