marching bands of manhatten.

today was the first day of band camp. to fill you guys in, i play second bass drum in our line, and i am also our section leader. this is my fourth year with my beech buccaneer brigade.
last year was a terrible, terrible year. we had leaders that either didn't care or were like nazis. no one wanted to be there. no one wanted to care, so no one did. we wasted so much time doing nothing. i honestly thought i was going to quit. however, my mom convinced me it was simply a bad year and to give it one more try.
she was so right. this year is a complete turn around. even though most of section are underclassmen, they are catching super quick for having never done this before. they could march better than any other section on the field today and gave everything to learning their new music.
i must say, i am ecstatic for this season.

i had a revelation this week.

i have a very limited style. it's not that i cannot create one that i like because when i try, i do. i am a lazy lady. i have absolutely no patience for waking up in the morning to make my hair, face, and clothes look good. but then i realized that to succeed in this world, you need to dress well. you must put some effort forth. that's what i have decided to do.

i have a petite hourglass figure. so, i'm going to be pulling out the high waisted skirts, v-necks, flats, floral dresses, cardigans.

harry potter has been a huge part of my life for the past ten years. i can't imagine not waiting for the excitement of a new movie, new book, new soundtrack. i feel like my childhood is leaving way too fast. this is such a representation of me having to grow up. it's time to move on.

to soften a smokey eye quickly, take a light colored powder and dust it over you eyelids with a fluffy brush. this eliminates much of the harshness and blends your make-up.

use baby wipes! they're gentle enough for sensitive skin, and you get to use a new cloth every time to eliminate germs.
